Welcome to Ocotillo Elementary!

A special note from our Principal:

As we start the 2015-2106 school year, we are celebrating our success from last school year.  The students and staff worked really hard to increase our student achievement and decrease the amount of student misbehavior.  The results are in:

·         Math scores increased 16%, placing Ocotillo in the top 10 schools out of 32 schools in our district in math growth.

·         Reading scores increased 22%, placing Ocotillo in the top 5 schools out of 32 schools in our district in reading growth.

·         Our total number of student discipline referrals dropped by nearly 70% from 1058 to 330 student discipline referrals last year.  This means that we have significantly reduced the amount of disruptions to the classroom environment and increased the expectations for the student culture on the Ocotillo campus!

We will continue to improve on the success and momentum that we have created together throughout this school year.  We can already feel the change in our student culture as we begin this year and I am sure it will show in our academic achievement!  I could not be more proud of our students and our teachers!!  Thank you for everything you do to support our efforts at Ocotillo Elementary School:  A Respectful, Responsible and Safe Learning Community.

 Dr. Steve Murosky, Principal
